Inaugural Meeting of the APPG on Trafficked Britons in Syria 22 January 2025

APPG ON TRAFFICKED BRITONS IN SYRIA. INAUGURAL MEETING& ELECTION OF OFFICERS 22 January 2025 at 2PM, Room O, Portcullis House.

The meeting will include presentations from experts on the situation in North East Syria (NES) following the fall of Assad, the impact on British families, including children and trafficking victims, arbitrarily detained there, and the implications for UK policy.

These experts will be Charles Lister (via video link), Director of Syria and Countering Terrorism & Extremism at the Middle East Institute and Katherine Cornett, Deputy Director of Casework at Reprieve.

The APPG is a cross-party group seeking a just resolution to the cases of people from the UK who were trafficked by ISIS, and to secure the repatriation of the small number of Britons still detained in NES.
